DEFINITELY ˈgɪŋərər !

When Derek rang us on 18 January last year to tell us Gordon had been born, he described him as a ginger, as in /ˈgɪŋər/ . Amanda and Derek now both claim Gordy, like Pudge is a blond. Personally though, dad and I think Gordy is definitely gingerer /ˈgɪŋərər/ than his big cous!

This pronunciation is not in the CED. :-(

If they put in they'd need to mark it Scot, hum, pej :-)

Is it this usage of the word ginger, or is it the divergent pronunciation that is Scot hum pej?

i'm proud of my wee ginger - in truth i don't think even amanda is able to deny the gingerness any more - particularly next to the clearly blonde Léon

Yes Derek he's the world's most perfect wee Gingerman :-)

Thomas - it's the divergent pronunciation and its use as a noun that I'd mark Scot, pej, hum.

Hey we could call them Pudgeman and Gingerman ;-)
